Italian Coturnix Quail

Description

The Italian Coturnix Quail is a striking golden coloured variety of Coturnix, immediately recognisable by its much lighter plumage.

Italian Coturnix typically display an attractive combination of gold, cream, buff and brown markings, giving them a noticeably different appearance from traditional Japanese Wild Type birds.

Like other Coturnix varieties, they mature remarkably quickly. Females can begin producing their distinctive speckled eggs from around 6 to 8 weeks old when conditions, nutrition and daylight are suitable.

Their combination of attractive colouring, compact size and excellent laying potential makes Italian Coturnix a lovely choice for both new quail keepers and those wanting to introduce another colour variety into an established Coturnix flock.
